The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the beautiful Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. 

We are seeking an engine aftertreatment development engineer to support the calibration, integration and testing of engine aftertreatment systems as part of the PACCAR Global Engines team.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Define and execute calibration, verification and testing activities to support engine aftertreatment development in vehicle and in the test cell environment
  • Collaboration with global PACCAR vehicle, OBD calibration and Engine performance teams to successfully integrate aftertreatment functions
  • Recommend, develop  and execute on continuous process improvement to improve product quality, reliability and durability of the MX engine aftertreatment system
  • Stays aware of new and upcoming aftertreatment technologies and testing methods
  • Complete reports and presentations to communicate findings, draw conclusions and give recommendations on next steps
  • Mentor and help develop less experienced engineers
  • Maintain positive working relationship with other groups at the PACCAR Technical Center and other PACCAR divisions


Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years of work experience in the automotive industry
  • Strong knowledge of heavy duty diesel emissions regulatory requirements including diagnostics
  • Detailed knowledge of current diesel exhaust aftertreatment technology (DOC, DPF, SCR & DEF)
  • Proficient with engine calibration, data collection tools (ATI Vision, Cummins Calterm & Vector CANalyzer) and engine control systems
  • Scripting and data analysis experience desired
  • Experienced with data collection, analysis and test planning
  • Must be self-directed; possess excellent analysis, communication and presentation skills; must be organized and take a rigorous approach to engineering projects
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to manage personal workload and have the willingness, flexibility, and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands
  • Ability to travel up to 15%, including international travel

Education

BS in a technical (STEM) field required, MS preferred
