Job Description

The Operations Manager (OM) will work directly with Pensa Field Coordinators and retail customers to manage and organize data collection projects, develop tools and systems to better manage projects and assist Field Coordinators with contractor recruitment, training and retention. The OM will be responsible for developing processes and policies that enable Pensa to scale and drive efficiencies in field operations. 

The Operations Manager will be instrumental in expanding our footprint in the retail space. The OM will manage Regional Field Coordinators to drive customer data collection excellence, retail store relationships, and coordination and supervision of contract scanners. The OM will also be responsible for investigating and executing third party workforce solutions, as well as understanding our data capture requirements and its implications for deliverables to customers. As our data-as-a-service (DaaS) relies exclusively on data collection quality and integrity, OM will be a key member of the Commercial Ops team.


  • Provide strategic input into the organization, structure, and processes of Pensa’s Field Operations
  • Develop processes, systems and policies to scale and drive efficiencies in field operations
  • Ensure data collection quality and integrity
  • Support Field Coordinators with field expansions and management and recruitment of contract scanners
  • Liaison with third party workforce solutions
  • Interface with Field Coordinators and internal HR and finance teams
  • Work closely with Commercial Field Ops leadership to identify gaps in service delivery with internal and external customers and potential solutions
  • Engage with Customer Success Manager to fulfill customer deliverables within required timeframes
  • Build relationships with retail staff and management to ensure smooth operations



  • Experience driving operational efficiencies in field service or other field related operations
  • Strong organizational skills; well-versed in project management tools 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills 
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand customer business operational needs and align our services and projects to meet them
  • Excellent analytical skills and corresponding toolsets to support analysis and reporting
  • Must be an expert in excel.  Expertise in statistical tools, optimization modeling and data visualization a plus
  • Engage with internal field teams to facilitate training and onboarding of processes and tools.
  • Entrepreneurial drive, creative, action oriented, thoughtful and responsible
  • Experience in the retail or CPG industry
  • Bachelor's degree industrial engineering, operational management or similar;  Strong academic achievement at well-regarded educational institution a plus  
  • Significant travel will be required, often with short notice
  • Position is headquartered in Austin, Texas but candidate may reside in any US city with a major airport
